My Story

In 2023, at 53 years of age and after a lifetime of being an active runner, biker and mountaineer, I discovered I was diabetic following another illness.  In 2024 I'm paying back the luck I had to have both those things diagnosed quickly and treated properly. Lots of people go through those things, but not everyone has the good fortune to be surrounded by the right people and services to get to grips with them and keep moving forward. I owe my life and health to lots of people, my partner, my family and friends, and a host of medical professionals.  I am extremely privileged to have  all those things available to me and I could not have asked more of any of them. I'm asking more of myself though, by repaying some of my luck for the whole of 2024, raising funds by taking on some long races, an Arctic trek and some big mountains.
